Mission Statement

The mission of GAChaplains.org is to provide information and opportunities for ministry to NGO's (non-governmental organizations such as churches and prison ministries) and to assist in the ministry of chaplaincy in Georgia Prisons in light of the drastic cuts in the number of professional chaplains brought about by the recent economic downturn.

The number of chaplains per inmate population has gone from about 500 inmates per chaplain to almost 3000 inmates per chaplain! Where there were multiple chaplains per prison, there are multiple prisons per chaplain!  Much of our time is now consumed with travel to multiple prisons.

It is our hope that with the increased support of other individuals and organizations we can successfully accomplish our mission of changing the hearts of those in prison that they may return to society as changed persons and good citizens.
